This is an interesting questions, Peter.  I'll be interested in hearing
what others report.  I have a net4801 with OpenBSD 5.5 installed.  But it
is an upgrade from 5.3 --> 5.4 -- 5.5.  I was planning on upgrading once
again to 5.6 on May 1, but will wait to see happens with this thread.

Have you tried installing 5.5 on it and then upgrading?
