Re: Garbage Over Serial Console for Brand-New 6501

The long list of repeated characters matches reality well enough that I would suspect a baud mismatch.  Try 9600 or 38400 and see what you get.

Can you verify your USB + null modem against any known-good equipment?  I use the keyspan USA-19HS.  The serial adapters are finicky, and you certainly could have a bad one.
