I found a couple of things in my archive, and I know (I think) I bought one of 'em - maybe both - because they were both kinda "weird", and seemingly "not of the main community", and I wanted them for my collection. I think they were both offered on Ebay at one point. One was called the "TRS80 CoCo HI-Speed storage system" - and it used an Arduino and SD card, attached to the serial (bit banger) port. According to notes I have on it, is mentioned: USER's Guide for CoCo File server By: John E Hieber (C) May 2015 Rev 2.5 (C) June 2017 The other one was something called "TRS80 Color Computer Hi-Speed Tape interface, 6000 baud" - but it appears to be a board you mount inside the case, and it provides an alternative jack for audio I/O - so probably not what you were looking for. The user's name of the Ebay listing, though, was "john-ed" (I don't know if both are related, as in the same guy?)... Hmm - I also found (I think) the software for the above "HI-Speed storage system", and manual (and I think I have things a bit messy in my archive I guess); at least, it lists the same guy, and I have an .EML file saved. It had a couple of email addresses included, but I don't know if I could or should share them (the email addresses - I doubt I can share the other information about the device)? Hmm - and the assembly code listing he sent me also seems to have his physical (mailing) address included... So I must've purchased that particular one, and it's in some kind of box somewhere in my mess-o-coco junk. Andrew L.
