The serial port in VCC will just generate a text document to the desired location (as far as I know). There is no "print simulation" (yet). Though this can be done using VCC & DriveWire4.

About a century ago, I wrote a bingo card generator that was published in Rainbow. It printed to one of the most common CoCo dot matrix printers at that time. How does VCC handle these printer calls? If I run the program under VCC, will it print to my Windows ink jet printer, or do I need to set some parameters first?
