FYI CCS6.1 on CentOS 6.5 BSOD

I'm sure a lot of you are as sick of this as I am. But I thought it worth giving an update on the results. I don't plan to waste any more time on CCS. It clearly has fatal QC issues. I can easily see why most here use IAR.

I installed 6.1 for Linux, used the Resource Explorer to copy, build and run the OutofBox demo project yet again. First attempt at running produced the BSOD when I hit button 2 after pressing button 1 3 times. After the reboot, it behaved properly. However, I only tried one iteration of this silliness. They managed to munge the ezfet firmware so that Energia can no longer talk to the F5529LP. That is seriously annoying as it took away my ability to program the device outside of CCS.

Incredibly when I clicked on the Tools menu it disappeared and even though I selected all the command groups and set it to be visible using Customize Perspective, it refuses to show the Tools menu. The tab dialog shows it as selected, but it doesn't appear. Restarting doesn't help. Absolutely hopeless piece of crap. I'm sure there will be a lot of conflict between the Energia and CCS teams as a result of munging the ezfet firmware so that mspdebug can't find it.

I'm going to see if I can use a G2 LaunchPad to program the F5529LP. That looks as if it might work once I cobble together a cable. Unfortunately that will probably take a good bit of digging to find connectors.

Sigh...
