Parport usage with MSPDEBUG

Hello!

Can you guys give me some hints on how to get PIF hw (FET430PIF) working
with mspdebug?

I'm trying  mspdebug  pif -j -d /dev/parport0 and mspdebug returns me:

Starting JTAG
JTAG ID: 0xff
pif: unexpected JTAG ID: 0xff
pif: initialization failed

Obs. My user has SU access to parport0.

Does this error means my device (a development plat my group made) does not
support jtag debugging?
