Digital Distribution

Analog distribution systems such as A-Bus have been
discussed before, but does anyone use or know of a
system that distributes a digital signal?

I came across these

baluns that I plan to use to get the signal from my
main system's DAC to our living room and it got me
thinking about the next step when I want to wire the
next room.  I seem to remember one such system being
discussed, but it was extremely expensive. I can't
find that in a google search; all I do find are links
to multi-channel pro gear.
