Jim,

There's a 3rd party app for the photobridge, MPlay, that does all that
you are asking.

Overall, the current photobridge beta has some issues but seems to have
great potential.  They have a good forum over there where you can get a
good feel for the device and it's capabilities and limitations.

Hi Lee - I'm curious, how well does the Roku do video?  Is it possible
to rip a DVD and play it on the Roku.  And if so, can you ff, rew and
chapter skip???  I'm looking for a video player (should've been the

new OS. The same limitation exists with video and photo viewing.

The good news is that sound quality is good, even though I'm using RCA
patch cable connections. The digital out is SP/DIF and I'm set up for
TOSLINK (like the Audiotron), so I'll need to purchase a SP/DIF to
TOSLINK
adapter. Video playback is generally good, though the audio and video
occasionally get out of sync. Photo display quality on my ten year old
non-HDTV 27" tube set is excellent, and should be even better when I
eventually go HDTV.

Overall, the Roku is not fully baked yet. OS upgrades and third-party
apps
will likely make it a more satisfactory product over time, but as is
it's
more suitable for those of us who enjoy tinkering and upgrading their
hardware rather than someone looking for a perfect product out of the
box.

I definitely regret that Turtle Beach didn't go forward with a Mediatron
as
I'm confident that the end result would have been as effective as the
Audiotron.

Seems like the Audiotron might have found its predecessor, at least as
far as the server software requirements are concerned: The Roku
Photobridge
supports SMB shares and does not appear to require special server
software, and comes with an open (Linux) API.

Has anybody already seen or tried the Photobridge? Opinions?
