Raid 5 is kinda hard to do when these devices only have 1 hd in them and
raid cant be done over usb that I know of.

You want raid 5 pony up the money (like I did) and go buy a snap 4100 or
better. Or build your own server (in the process of) where disk space and
raid cards can be endless. And where did the raid 5 conversation even start?
It wasn't in this thread regarding the Argosy HD-363N.

And how do you know it is "totally hackable" when it isn't even out yet.  It
looks great but I don't like the idea of having to buy it with drives
already in it and they say they don't support anything except their own
drives.

If I bought this unit I'd want to do RAID 5 with at least 400GB drives,
which isn't even a supported option.
