Re: Argosy HD-363N -- UPDATE

This is the big brother to the Buffalo Linkstation, which is Linux-based
and totally hackable.   I have the 250GB Linkstation and I am
exceptionally pleased with it.  It works right out of the box with the
AT.  There is also the Buffalo Kurobox, whch is the Linkstation without
drives.

Without seeing the Argosy in action but based on the postings, the
Bufalo products seem to be a better solution for media filesharing.  I
certainly have not run into any filehandle limitations.

There is an advantage to having the drives pre-installed.  This allows
Buffalo to pre-install and test all of the operating software.  For the
Buffalo drives, part of the operating system (kernel etc) in in flash
rom but the rest is installed on the hard drive(s).  With pre-installed
drives, everything works.

Matt, your needs seem atypical.  For most of us, 1 terabyte (Raid 0) or
750GB (Raid 5) is more than adequate storage.
