You can solve the lack of DNS issue by adding the Atron to your HOSTS file (C:\windows or Winnt\system32\drivers\etc folder).  Add a line like 
 
10.0.0.10       TC-XP-HM
 
if you really MUST use the name.  But as I said earlier, just specifying the IP should be all you'd need.  Which brings us to the "error 53."  I found this in the FAQ on their support site.  See if any of this helps/applies:
 
Q.  Both my PC and the AT box are connected to a Linksys DSL/Router using
    DHCP. I can browse AT's configuration from PC without problem. I can ping
    PC from AT (through browser|config|misc) without problem. The AT history 
    log claims that it found my PC CELLO at the right IP address. 

    But it doesn't seem to find any shared dir and files. If I try to play 
    non-existent files from the browser, another line is added to the log: 
    \\Cello Error Accessing Host - Error 53


A.  Here's how I got it working finally:
    I looked at my Event Log in Win 2k. I saw this strange NetBIOS browser
    problem and trying to resolve it, there was an extra network connection
    that I thought was at an idle state. When I first got DSL, I did not use
    the Linksys router. The verizon setup software created a 'WAN network 
    connection" for me (there was already a Local connection to my network
    card). 
   
    After I added  the Linksys box, I removed all other verizon software but 
    never bothered with this second 'connection'. I thought it was harmless 
    as it never appeared in the icon bar as the local connection does.

    It turns out that it was actually active, so I disabled it. The browser 
    event never came up in the event log, and AudioTron found the mp3 files 
    right away after I restarted the box!

    I confirmed that this was really the cause of the problem by re-enabling 
    the WAN network connection and seeing that AT now again fails to find mp3
    files. 

    BTW, the 'nbtstat.exe' came in really handy. When the WAN connection was
    active, nbtstat.exe reported NO session (nbtstat -s). After the connection
    is disabled, I see listeners and the AudioTron connected by my machine.


NOTE: If Internet Connection Firewall is enabled it could cause the AudioTron
      query for name resolution to fail. Most (large?) corporations are 
      requiring their employees accessing the corporation network through
      VPN to enable ICF.

The name of my PC is TC-XP. It's IP is 10.0.0.10, while the AT is
10.0.0.20. Both can ping each other.

I think the problem is that I don't have anything configured as the DNS
server, because I don't know what that would be. On the Share Search
options page, I've tried entering both \\TC-XP\Audiotron and \\10.0.0.10
\Audiotron.

When I use \\10.0.0.10\Audiotron, I get :

Host TC-XP found at IP 10.0.0.10
\\TC-XP - Error accessing host, Error = 53


When I use \\TC-XP\Audiotron I get :

Can't get IP address for host TC-XP-HM
Completed Operation



When the AT pings TC-XP it reports : Ping Failed: No DNS Server configured.


I think I'm close, but I'm getting wrapped around the axle on the DNS
server and/or gateway entries when running in this direct connect mode.

Yes, I am running XP SP2 with Firewall. Are there any settings to make
with that?
