That might also be accomplished using mounting brackets.
I've purchases a small(ish) 24-port switch made by Hawking technologies.
The width of the case itself is quite a bit smaller than a 19" rack, but the
brackets are longer to extend out to the proper dimensions.

Using the same case size keeps production and inventory costs to a minimum.
