Open letter to Seth & TB (was Re: [AT] Reminder about this forum.)

I understand where you're coming from, but your email really begs "the"
question.

Is what Glenn proposes a competitive endeavor?

IOW Is Voyetra/Turtle Beach still in this marketplace? I see no evidence of
that.

In fact, my understanding is that TB kinda snuck out the kitchen door
during the party they threw while no one was looking. Kinda looks to me
like you abandonned your marketplace and your loyal following (in this list
and in other places).

Despite that, your loyal fans are planning a wake in your honour. In fact,
they liked your body of work so much they're imitating your last great
achievement (flattery and all that).

If, Mark Twain-like, you wish to step back into the kitchen and tell us
that reports of your demise are greatly exaggerated, I'm sure everyone
would cheer. And, more importantly, join you in helping to plan the AT2.

I think TB has two choices, given that this thing has happened this weekend.

1. Consider it flattery and seriously re-consider the closed and shuttered
way they have treated their loyal fans.

2. Or shut down the list to this discussion.

Despite what someone in TB seems to think, the way to shut down this
competitive conversation is the first, not the second. If removed from this
list and these resources, the project will just re-appear elsewhere on the
internet.

It *was* a great community. Now it's a grieving community. Missing the
openness and sharing that once happened. I bought my first AT because I
knew about this list. I bought my second one off this list from someone who
had a spare.

It's not too late to turn this puppy around and change the way TB treated
the loyal people here.

But it will be too late in another year or so. Perhaps sooner.

Which will accomplish nothing in terms of deterring the people who want a
follow-on AT.
