We warmly invite you to contribute to the symposium "Rethinking the Boundaries of Information Interaction: A CHIIR & SIG‑USE Community Exploration" (6 November 2026, ASIS&T Annual Meeting, Thailand). Human–human and human–computer interaction have long been central to the CHIIR and SIG‑USE communities. Join us for an interactive collaborative exploration of the boundaries of information interaction, and the implications these boundaries hold for research, design, and professional practice.

We are seeking extended abstracts (up to 500 words) for both provocative opinion pieces and short research or practice papers that challenge assumptions, surface tensions, and spark discussion across CHIIR and SIG‑USE perspectives. Whether your work is conceptual, empirical, methodological, or practice‑based, we encourage submissions that help rethink how boundaries of interaction are shaped and experienced.

Submit by 10 July 2026, with notifications by 4 August 2026. The symposium will be highly interactive, combining short presentations, facilitated discussions, and a forward‑looking panel-so come ready to share ideas, question assumptions, and co‑create new directions! See attached Call for Participation for more information and the submission link: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/nz9gRzraxc

For any questions, please contact Haiming Liu, Maja Krtalić or Rob Capra.
