Submissions
===========
Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research papers that
are not under review for any other conference, workshop, or journal. The
contributions should address research questions that relate to one of the
topics listed above.
We particularly encourage:
1. Contributions introducing and rigorously evaluating technological
innovations (e.g., novel techniques, architectures, tools, or frameworks).
2. Empirical studies evaluating AI-enabled information systems in
real-world settings.
3. Interdisciplinary research addressing ethical, legal, and societal
aspects of information systems.
4. Systematic surveys on emerging paradigms in AI-driven cooperative
information systems.
5. Industrial case studies focusing on trust, privacy, and governance
challenges in information systems.
The research questions addressed should both be practically relevant and
appealing to the general information systems field, and each paper should
include a systematic evaluation of the contribution and relate this
contribution to related scientific work.
Papers are evaluated in terms of originality, significance, technical
soundness, and clarity.
Submissions for full papers must not exceed 15 pages (including the list of
references) in the final camera-ready paper style. The program chairs may
decide to accept some of the submissions as short papers (which would then
need to be shortened to 8 pages).
Submitted papers must be written in English, laid out according to the
final camera-ready formatting instructions, and be submitted in electronic
form in PDF format.
Each accepted paper must have one of its authors registered for the
conference before the camera-ready deadline. The conference organizers
reserve the right to remove a paper from the proceedings if no author is
officially registered by the camera-ready deadline. Moreover, only papers
that have been presented by their authors during the conference will be
published in the conference proceedings.
The proceedings will be published by Springer Verlag in their Lecture Notes
in Computer
Science (LNCS). Author instructions can be found at:

science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines
PC chairs:

*** Early Research Achievement (ERA) Track ***
The Early Research Achievements (ERA) track at CoopIS 2026 provides a forum
for presenting promising and innovative research at an early stage. The
goal of this track is to encourage the discussion of new ideas, emerging
directions, and preliminary results in Cooperative Information Systems and
related areas.
ERA submissions will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Fit with CoopIS topics
- Originality and novelty of the idea
- Potential impact and relevance
- Soundness of the proposed approach
- Clarity of presentation
- ERA Track Format
IMPORTANT DATES (AoE)
- Submission Deadline: July 17, 2026
- Notification of Acceptance: September 3, 2026
Track webpage: <https://coopis.scitevents.org/coopis-ERA.aspx>
ERA Track Chairs: Salah Bouktif, and Sanjay Madria
*** Tool Demonstration Track ***
The Tool Demonstration track at CoopIS 2026 provides a forum for presenting
innovative tools and systems relevant to Cooperative Information Systems.
The goal of this track is to showcase practical implementations,
prototypes, and platforms that demonstrate the applicability of research
results in real-world settings.
Tool Demo submissions will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Relevance to CoopIS topics
- Novelty and usefulness of the tool
- Technical quality and soundness
- Clarity of presentation
- Demonstration quality and feasibility
- Tool Demo Track Format
IMPORTANT DATES (AoE)
- Submission Deadline: July 17, 2026
- Notification of Acceptance: September 3, 2026

*** Journal First Track ***
Coopis 2026 invites journal-first paper presentations. Authors who have
recently published papers in journals (from 2025 onwards) on topics
relevant to Coopis are invited to submit their papers for consideration.
The guiding theme of the 32nd edition is: “Information Systems in the AI
Era”. The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence, Large Language
Models and Agentic AI into information systems is transforming how data is
processed, decisions are made, and services are delivered. The topics of
interest span the entire spectrum of cooperative Information Systems
including research and practice in the areas defined in the Call for Papers.
This presentation modality is intended to give authors of high-quality
journal publications the opportunity to showcase their work, increase their
potential impact and engage in discussions with the community in a
scheduled session during the conference.
journal-first paper presentations must adhere to the following criteria:
- The associated journal paper must have been accepted for publication in a
journal no earlier than January 1st, 2025.
- The paper is in the scope of the conference.
- The paper does not exclusively report a secondary study, e.g., systematic
reviews, mapping studies, surveys.
- The paper reports completely new research results and/or presents novel
contributions that significantly extend and were not previously reported in
prior work.
IMPORTANT DATES (AoE)
- Submission Deadline: July 17, 2026
- Notification of Acceptance: September 3, 2026

Journal First Track Chairs: Patrick Hung and Amin Beheshti
*** Doctoral Symposium Track ***
The CoopIS 2026 Doctoral Symposium provides a supportive and constructive
environment for PhD students working in the area of Cooperative Information
Systems and related fields. It offers an opportunity for students to
present their research, receive feedback from experienced researchers, and
engage with the broader community.
- The paper reports completely new research results and/or presents novel
contributions that significantly extend and were not previously reported in
prior work.

Doctoral Symposium Track Chairs: Noura Faci, and Elhadj Benkhelifa
*** Tutorials Track ***
CoopIS tutorials introduce general or special topics in cooperative
information systems and relevant neighboring areas. A focus on specific
tools and methodologies can still be useful to offer concrete examples and
hands-on activities to participants. The goal of a tutorial is to provide a
road map for beginners or advanced attendees about a subject area related
to cooperative information systems. Generally, tutorials emphasize breadth
and cover material from a variety of different authors. The audience
generally varies from novice students to practitioners and specialized
researchers. Ideally, a tutorial covers a subject that has an adequately
supporting corpus of past work and significant prospects of future
expansion research-wise.
Tutorials will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Fit with Coopis audience (please see topics of interest to the
conference).
- Interestingness: People who attend Coopis will want to learn what is
offered by the tutorial?
- Projected benefit: Will people be likely to leave the tutorial more
informed about a specific topic than before?
- Clarity of activity and outcomes: Do we know what the tutorial presenter
will do? Is it clear that what the presenter will do will lead to
interestingness?
- Ability to sustain audience attention: Incorporate new, innovative
teaching methods, ideally using hands-on experience
- For all accepted proposals, Coopis will take care of all local
arrangements.
IMPORTANT DATES (AoE)
- Submission Deadline: July 17, 2026
- Notification of Acceptance: September 3, 2026
