The 22nd edition will be held at the Chennai Mathematical Institute. The conference features: • Pre-conference tutorials on cutting-edge security topics • Keynote talks and invited presentations from leading security experts • Three distinct tracks: Main Technical Track, Industry/Demo Track, and PhD Forum • Partial travel grants and registration waivers for students SCOPE AND AREAS OF INTEREST ---------------------------- ICISS solicits previously unpublished, original research work in systems security. Submissions on the following topics (non-exhaustive list) are welcome: SYSTEMS SECURITY • OS, VM, containers, cloud • Network: SDN, NFV, SD-WAN • IoT, RFID, SCADA systems • IDS, IPS, Honeypot, Botnet ACCESS CONTROL • Authentication, Authorization • PKI & Trust management • Zero Trust APPLICATION SECURITY • Vulnerabilities, Malware • Ransomware, APTs, MITRE • Information flow control • Threat Modelling, Attack graphs SECURITY IN AI/ML • Adversarial learning/inputs • Prompt injection, RLHF strategies • Model stealing, Model poisoning FORMAL METHODS FOR SECURITY • Verification of Security Protocols • FM for AI/ML Models & Apps HARDWARE SECURITY • Remote attestation, PUFs • Trojans, Backdoors, FPGA • TEE, TRNG, SGX PRIVACY • PETs, anonymization tech • De-identification attacks • Surveillance & Censorship • Inference, correlation attacks BLOCKCHAIN • Cryptocurrency, stablecoins • Interoperability, scalability • Smart contracts, concurrency • DIDs, NFTs, CBDCs, AML EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES & STANDARDS • ChatGPT, LaMDA, Dall-E 2, etc • Security-by-design, SBOM • STIX/TAXII REAL-WORLD USE CASES • e-voting, e-gov, smart cities • Healthcare, UPI payments SUBMISSION GUIDELINES --------------------- FORMAT & LENGTH • Submissions must be in English and not exceed 20 pages using LNCS format (excluding appendices and references) • Camera-ready versions must not exceed 20 pages (including appendices and references) • Do not modify LNCS format (fonts/margins) to adjust page length ANONYMITY & DOUBLE-BLIND REVIEW • ICISS follows a strict double-blind review process with at least 3 reviews per paper • Remove author identification: avoid revealing names via arXiv, GitHub, funding acknowledgments, or other searchable information • Cite your own prior work as if citing others • Consider using Anonymous4OpenScience (https://anonymous.4open.science/) SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS • Submit as a single PDF file (ensure compatibility with Adobe Reader) • All figures must be readable when printed in grayscale • Submit by the deadline (11:59 PM AoE) • Ensure proper anonymization; inadequately anonymized papers may be rejected without review • All submissions are checked for plagiarism ETHICAL REQUIREMENTS • Submissions involving human subjects, user data, or real-world vulnerability analysis must include a dedicated "Ethical Considerations" section • Discuss risk-benefit trade-offs • Document responsible disclosure practices • Detail data anonymization procedures • This section does not count toward the page limit SPECIAL PAPER TYPES • Systematization of Knowledge (SoK) and Survey papers must be clearly marked with "SoK: " prefix • We encourage submissions from diverse methodological approaches AUTHOR DECLARATIONS ------------------- At the time of submission, you must: • Declare potential conflicts-of-interest with TPC members • Declare IRB status and responsible disclosure practices for vulnerability analysis and user privacy • Declare any use of generative AI in your work • Agree that at least one author of each accepted paper will register for and attend the conference • Acknowledge the chairs' right to desk-reject submissions attempting to disrupt the review process • Optionally consent to review others' submissions and/or LLM-assisted review of your work GENERATIVE AI USE POLICY ICISS encourages authors to use LLMs to critique their own papers before submission. However, authors must adhere to two core principles: • Human Accountability: Authors (humans) remain ultimately responsible for the contents of the paper. LLMs cannot be held responsible. • Transparency: Clearly declare your use of generative AI and its role in the research and writing process. REVIEW PROCESS ENHANCEMENTS --------------------------- RECIPROCAL REVIEW ICISS introduces a reciprocal review model to enhance scalability and diversity of perspectives. TPC chairs may request qualified authors to review others' submissions. Submission indicates your willingness to participate if needed. SUBMISSION TRACKS ----------------- ICISS accepts submissions across multiple tracks: • Regular Papers: Original research contributions in systems security • Industry/Demo Track: Security implementations, PoCs, and case studies from practitioners • PhD Forum: Early-stage and work-in-progress research from PhD students (lightning talks & posters) • Tutorials: Half/full-day courses on cutting-edge security topics Select the correct track when submitting. If you choose incorrectly, resubmit in the appropriate track and notify the track chairs. AWARDS & STUDENT SUPPORT ------------------------ • Best Paper Award: Announced at the conference • Student Travel Grants: Partial support for students with accepted papers • Registration Waivers: Available for PhD Forum participants • Generous funding for student attendance at tutorials and the main conference PROCEEDINGS ----------- All accepted papers will be published in the Springer LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) series, ensuring wide visibility and impact in the security research community.
