CHI PLAY 2027 — Location Announcement & Call for Organizing Committee EOIs

Dear colleagues,

Even though CHI PLAY 2026 has not happened yet, we're pleased to announce the location of 2027's CHI PLAY conference - the ACM SIGCHI symposium on player-computer interaction, bringing together researchers and professionals across games and HCI. We are also excited to solicit expressions of interest in volunteering to be part of the organanizing committee.

[:round_pushpin:] Location - CHI PLAY 2027 will be held at the Concordia University Conference Centre in Montreal, Canada.

[:calendar:] Dates: October 3rd to 6th, 2027.

[:raising_hand:] Call for Expressions of Interest for the Organizing Committee - We're now welcoming expressions of interest to help organize and make the conference a success. We are soliciting expressions across all committee roles.

[:spiral_calendar_pad:] A note on early announcement: This year, we're trialing an early announcement of the venue, ahead of our typical timeline. Our goal is to give the community more lead time to create an outstanding program, but also to facilitate travel plans, funding requests, and work schedules around the conference location. We'd love to hear your feedback on whether this is helpful, so we can decide whether to make it standard practice going forward.

We hope to see you this November in York for CHI PLAY 2026, and in Montreal in October 2027!
