CALL FOR TUTORIALS
We seek proposals for tutorial presentations of general interest that share practical knowledge and applied research skills relating to recent advances in future directions in sustainable technologies and engineering innovations.
All tutorial topics relevant to the conference tracks will be considered. However, priority will be given to proposals that address an emerging research area and emphasize open research questions and future directions in relation to sustainability support through technology and design. Proposals must provide the audience with practical skills or an in-depth and contemporary survey of the chosen area, covering a comprehensive review of the relevant literature. Presenters are welcome to include examples of their own research and contributions. However, tutorials should provide a balanced and comprehensive overview of the field by highlighting significant work from the broader research community, rather than focusing solely on the presenters' own contributions.
Proposed duration: 2 hours or 4 hours (inclusion of hands-on activities is highly preferable).
The proposal (maximum 4 pages) should concisely describe the target audience, the content, and objectives of the tutorial, and must include:

  1.  Title of the tutorial
  2.  Abstract, objectives, and motivation
  3.  Timeline and intended audience
  4.  Name, affiliation, and a short biography of each tutorial speaker
  5.  A title for the tutorial and a description of the technical issues that the tutorial will address, emphasizing its timeliness and relevance to sustainability
  6.  An outline of the tutorial content
  7.  List of tools or methodologies to be employed during the tutorial
  8.  Practical knowledge/applied research learning outcomes of the tutorial
  9.  If appropriate, a description of the past/relevant experience of the speaker(s) on the topic of the tutorial and past versions of the tutorial (if any)
  10. State if a similar tutorial has been offered in other conferences (in the last two years) and how your proposed tutorial to SusTAIN2026 differs

CALL FOR DEMOS
The First International Conference on Technology and Engineering Innovation for Sustainability (SusTAIN'2026) cordially welcomes proposals for "show-and-tell" demonstration sessions (demos) to demonstrate research prototypes and decentralized applications related to the themes of the Conference Tracks found at www.sustain.upm.edu.sa<http://www.sustain.upm.edu.sa/>.
Via the demo sessions, SusTAIN'2026 offers a unique opportunity to both researchers from academia and industry to showcase applications, demonstrate ground-breaking prototypes, elucidate innovative solutions, and engage with a highly skilled audience in discussing new pertinent emerging technologies related to sustainability. Moreover, this session offers participants an opportunity to enhance and further develop their demonstrated projects in partnership with UPM, which includes an opportunity for support or incubation for nominated project demonstrations.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR DEMOS
Prospective contributors are expected to turn in a demo proposal in the form of a 3-4-page paper in the Springer proceedings format (https://link.springer.com/series/558/information-for-authors-and-editors), preferably incorporating a demo system architecture illustration.
Demo papers will be peer-reviewed and accepted papers will be included in the electronic conference proceedings bundle provided to SusTAIN'2026 delegates and will be subsequently submitted to the Springer Nature proceedings.
The demo proposals will be reviewed by a SusTAIN'2026 demo program committee and will be approved based on the availability of demo space as well as on the following selection criteria:

  *   Extent and significance of the research & innovation contribution
  *   The potential impact and relevance to community challenges
  *   Quality of the proposed implementation
  *   Presentation quality

At least one author of each accepted demo proposal is required to register for SusTAIN 2026 at the applicable published conference registration rate and present the demonstration during the scheduled demo session. Requests for partial or full registration fee waivers may be submitted through the following e-form. Such requests will be reviewed by the Conference Technical Program Committee on a case-by-case basis.
