Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to the "Designing Intentional Educational Hacka=
thons" half-day workshop at ECTEL 2026 in Valencia, Spain. The workshop is b=
uilt around the CoCreate framework: a research-grounded resource for plannin=
g hackathons that foster creativity and entrepreneurship in higher education=
.
Who should attend?
Educators, TEL researchers, educational technologists, and anyone in the hac=
kathon community designing or planning to design project-based learning expe=
riences.
No prior hackathon experience needed! Just bring your own course or program =
context.
What will you take away?
A draft hackathon blueprint tailored to your own institutional context, fami=
liarity with the CoCreate framework, and membership in a growing community o=
f practice around educational hackathon design.
How to participate
Register and submit a short 2=E2=80=933 page extended abstract (Springer LNC=
S format) describing your institutional/course context, your motivation for =
attending, and any prior experience with hackathons or project-based learnin=
g. Submissions are not competitively reviewed =E2=80=94 every abstract from =
a registered participant is accepted. They simply help us form balanced desi=
gn groups and tailor the workshop to the contexts participants bring.

Location: ECTEL 2026, Valencia, Spain
Capacity: Limited to 20 participants - early registration encouraged
