Dear colleagues,

Does your work involve designing or co-designing with people with diverse a=
bilities?
Consider joining our ASSETS 2026 workshop this October.

We are organising the workshop "Designing With, Not For: Inclusive Methodol=
ogies for Co-designing With People With Diverse Abilities."
We welcome researchers, designers, and practitioners at any career stage wh=
o work with or are curious about designing with people with diverse abiliti=
es, including older adults, people with disabilities, and neurodivergent in=
dividuals.
Our aim is to map out what inclusive methodological practice actually looks=
like, across theory, practice, and outcomes.
We want to capture the tacit know-hows, the adaptations and workarounds tha=
t rarely make it into publications but shape how this work really gets done=
.

Date: Wednesday, October 21st, 2026
Format: Virtual, in two time blocks for accessibility across time zones (8:=
00 to 10:00 UTC and 14:00 to 16:00 UTC)
More details: https://tacit-project.nl/events/assets-26-ws-methodologies/

We invite position papers (2 to 4 pages), or alternative formats such as pi=
ctorials, short videos, or visual reflections.
Submissions will be published on an open access repository such as Zenodo, =
and can follow the ACM Word or LaTeX template if preferred.

Submission deadline: August 18th, 2026
Notification: August 20th, 2026

Send submissions or questions to Sophia Ppali ([email protected]) and Laur=
ence Myers ([email protected])

Note that registration for the ASSETS 2026 conference is required to attend=
, with early bird pricing until August 27th.
Full details here: https://assets26.sigaccess.org/registration.html

We would love for you to join us, or please share with anyone in your netwo=
rk who might be interested.

Best wishes,
The workshop organising team.
