Open-Rank Faculty Position in U.S. Cultural History and Cultural Studies at Yale

The American Studies Program at Yale University invites applications for a =
full-time, tenure-track or tenured faculty position in U.S. Cultural Histor=
y and Cultural Studies. The appointment is open at all ranks, including Ass=
istant, Associate, and Full Professor, with an anticipated start date of Ju=
ly 1, 2027.
The program seeks a scholar whose work examines the nineteenth- and/or twen=
tieth-century cultural history of the United States, nationally and transna=
tionally. Applications are welcome from any subfield, with particular inter=
est in labor histories; disability history and disability studies; environm=
ental studies and environmental history; and the historical study of coloni=
alisms and empires.
The appointee must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, or have completed all=
 requirements for the Ph.D. in American Studies or another appropriate inte=
rdisciplinary field, by June 2027.

and two-page, single-spaced research statement by October 15, 2026.
