THE WORKSHOP
"Human-AI teaming" has become one of the most widely invoked concepts in AI research, design, and policy, yet the questions underneath it are largely unresolved. Rather than asking whether "teaming" is the right term, this workshop asks a more generative question: what work does the teaming construct actually do, and for whom?
For researchers, it may frame coordination and division of labor. For designers, it may suggest interaction structures beyond simple tool use. For end-users, it may set expectations, helpful or misleading, about agency, accountability, and trust.
We bring together researchers from HCI, cognitive science, clinical studies, and AI to examine the concept's functions and limits, compare it against alternatives such as augmentation, delegation, and scaffolding, and work toward a more precise vocabulary for expert-AI collaboration.
The workshop is a full day of keynotes, paper feedback sessions, group discussion, structured brainstorming, and opportunities to connect with others working on human-AI collaboration.

If you have been considering submitting a position paper, artifact, prototype, or even an early-stage idea, there is still time. We especially welcome work that raises questions, challenges assumptions, or offers alternative ways of thinking about human-AI collaboration.
