Job: 1x 24 month Postdoctoral Researcher positions are available on the topic of Human-AI collaboration and learning within the HCI@UCD group

Role: UCD Postdoctoral Researcher Level 1, ADAPT L&D Project, UCD School 
of Information and Communications Studies

The ADAPT L&D project aims to research the design of and interaction 
with conversational AI chatbot agents to support learning within an 
industry-based software education programme. The work will specifically 
focus on conducting cutting edge research on the impact of Generative AI 
agents on learning, cognition and educational interactions as well as 
exploring how best to assess learners who use GenAI tools. To achieve 
this the project looks to hire an excellent researcher with experience 
leading research activities related to conversational human-AI 
interaction, learning, dialogue and cognition. The project is a 
collaboration between Research Ireland ADAPT academics (Prof. Benjamin 
Cowan- UCD, Assist. Prof. Giovanni Di Liberto- TCD and Prof. Claire 
Gubbins – UCD) and an industry partner.  The researcher will be based 
within the HCI@UCD group (https://hci.ucd.ie/) at the School of 
Information & Communication Studies (https://www.ucd.ie/ics/) within 
University College Dublin.

Salary Range: €47,273 - €53,925 Per Annum.
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and 
experience.

post, would exceed 4 years, you should not apply and should refer to PD2 
posts instead.
