Survey; Status of new Human-Centered Computing PhD program; HCI Graduate Education Workshop at CHI

Dear Colleagues - three items:

1.  I have a project here at Georgia Tech to create a digital library of information
relevant to teaching HCI and HCC.  A prototype of the library is on line at http://
hcc.cc.gatech.edu/.

I am writing to ask your views about the potential usefulness of such a digital library
for you as a teacher.  You might want to take a look at what we have at the moment
before answering the questions, but remember that what  is there now is just our
initial conception - a quick and dirty rapid prototype, if you will.

Then click on this link http://hcc.cc.gatech.edu/form.php  to a web-based
questionnaire that will take no more than 5 minutes to complete, probably less.

As always with questionnaires, we may be asking the wrong questions, so please
feel free to comment on this in any way that seems useful to you.

2.  The Human-Centered Computing Ph.D. program at Georgia Tech has now
received final approval from the state Board of Regents.  See http://

send your very best undergraduate students!

3.  The CHI 2005 workshop on graduate HCI education has been approved; see
http://hcc.cc.gatech.edu/chi2005workshop.htm for the call for white papers, which
are due January 3.
