FYI - For you who are graphic artists and designers in the SF Bay area. I am teaching a course for the Piedmont Adult Schools focussing on usability engineering and HCI basics for VISUAL ARTISTS. This is the stuff still not taught in most university and art school graphic design programs (and if it is, often it is taught by folks who are NOT graphic artists ...and yes, that makes a difference).

There is still very little energy spent on at least informing graphic artists of basics such as user profiles, tasks analysis and scenarios, documenting assumptions, task objectives, user testing, et al. and even if you're not the one doing all of that in your job or your company or you have no budget or whatever you believe is a reason to brush all of this aside, having a working knowledge of these fundamentals can make or break the pitching of an idea to stakeholders and clients.

This is a cheap, fast, simple way to get this critical info.

Here's the info: http://register.asapconnected.com/Courses.aspx?CourseGroupID=9152

Hope to see some of you there and please do pass this along to folks you think may be interested.

Best,
Lisa
