IGI Global has kindly authorized the free distribution of the Preface 
written by Antonio Cartelli and Carlo Giovannella, that you can find 
here attached.

We profit to underline how this IJDLDC issue marks the transition to a 
new “era” for the journal to stress the relevance that digital literacy 
and digital competence are assuming well beyond the educational domain, 
although this latter is still a privileged subject of investigation 
because represents the “place” where digital literacy and digital 
competences are structured and become part of your own personal background.
With this issue, thus, IJDLDC re-affirms landmark nature of the journal
