I'm currently working at a rather large corporation, where although I'm admittedly surprised that it has no LIS resources (who decidedly could make reasonable contributions), there are people responsible for the search technologies who are mulling over controlled vocabularies and the like. While I might not have really considered it before (as many of the recent posts have so well illustrated), the discipline isn't a person.
