This is a reminder that the joint AIGA & PHICHI meetng is next Thursday, the 14th! UXers, please consider extending this invitation to the designers that you work with. *Apologies to those that have received this announcement more than once** What: Joint PHICHI and AIGA September Meeting: the Visual vs. the Usable - How do they cross paths? When: Thursday, September 14th Refreshments & Networking: 6-6:30pm  Food and beverages will be provided. Presentation: 6:30pm  8ish Where: GSI Commerce Headquarters 935 First Avenue King of Prussia, PA 19406 Directions: http://gsicommerce.com/contactus/directions.jsp Registration: Free! RSVP required (see below). This is the first ever joint PHICHI & AIGA meeting! As user experience professionals, we always need to interface and collaborate with graphic artists and designers. At times, we all know that this can be difficult. There is a lot that both professions can learn from each other in order to work better together. This is why PHICHI has decided to hold a joint meeting with the local chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). For this first joint meeting, we decided to give members of both organizations a closer look at the User-Centered Design process of two local agencies, Avenue A | Razorfish and GSI Commerce. Each company will explain their design process from start to finish and show sample deliverables of their work. You will get to see how their design and user experience teams work together. Please register for this meeting at: http://philadelphia.aiga.org/event_registration-reg.html ---------------------------- About AIGA: In 1981, a group of Philadelphia designers formed AIGA Philadelphia, the first local chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts. Presently the chapter is comprised of over 400 members. AIGA Philadelphia's purpose is both integral and complementary to the national organization: to provide the highest standards within the profession and the business community and to stimulate interest and understanding of graphic design and visual communication through lectures, exhibitions, periodicals and other activities.
