When was the term "experience design" first coined? A few years back,
I had a conversation with John Rheinfrank where he showed me the
article in which he had coined the phrase, I think as early as 1987.
But I don't recall where the piece was published and who his co-
author was (for some reason, I don't think it was Shelley Evenson).
Could it really be this early?

I did find a really nice issue of Human-Computer Interaction in
spring 1994 about designing from the border. Very interesting pieces
from Tom Moran, John Rheinfrank, John Thackara, Marc Weiser and all
sorts of design research all stars. If you've got access to it, it's
worth a reading. Insightful, prescient folks.

I am looking for a citation and eventual article for academic
purposes, so the more specific the information, the better.

Thanks!

molly
