This is a reminder that the next PHICHI meeting is this Thursday night! **Apologies to those that have received this announcement more than once** What: Joint PHICHI and AIGA November Meeting: the Visual vs. the Usable - A Panel Discussion On November 2nd, PhiCHI (The Philadelphia Region's Chapter of the ACM SIGCHI) and AIGA Philadelphia (American Institute of Graphic Arts) will be holding their next joint meeting; a round table discussion with audience participation and panelists from user experience and design team members from Electronic Ink, Inc. and The Vanguard Group, Inc.. The organizers of the event would like your feedback on the following 2 questions: QUESTION 1: How do you feel when your wire frame is not adhered to? Please respond to all. We only ask the following: -- Say more than "I feel _." State the reasons behind your feelings and why you feel adhering to wire frames is important. -- Refrain from using inflammatory statements and generalizations about designers. Remember, many designers do understand and support usability. QUESTION 2: Do you have any questions that you would like to hear designers answer? Please respond to all. We only ask the following: -- Frame your question with the purpose of trying to understand a designer's point of view, not to present a "gotcha question". Many designers may not have been exposed to concepts youve long understood. Your question may be the first time theyve thought about it. -- Keep it civil We will endeavor to address as many questions as time permits at the event. Remember, we envision The Visible vs. the Usable to be a series of events. The discussion will continue. When: Thursday, November 2nd Refreshments & Networking: 6-6:30pm Food and beverages will be provided. Panel Discussion: 6:30pm 8ish Where: Heilmeier Hall University of Pennsylvania The Towne Building 220 S. 33rd Street Philadelphia, PA 19104 Campus Map: http://www.facilities.upenn.edu/mapsBldgs/view_map.php3?id=158 Buliding Info: http://www.facilities.upenn.edu/mapsBldgs/view_map.php3?id=343 Parking Map: http://www.facilities.upenn.edu/mapsBldgs/view_map.php3?id=419 Sponsor: This event could not have been possible without the support of our proud sponsor, Electronic Ink (www.electronicink.com)! ---------------------------- About AIGA: In 1981, a group of Philadelphia designers formed AIGA Philadelphia, the first local chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts.
