Send RSVPs by 6pm November 28th to [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> Magazines and Newspapers Face the New Web A Presentation and Panel Discussion with Avenue A | Razorfish In the face of dwindling circulation numbers the major magazine and newspaper brands are increasingly investing in their online properties after years of hesitation and experimentation. Yet on the web they confront even more complex challenges, especially in the form of competition from aggregators, independent publishing, social media, and local and niche outlets. In the face of this ever-evolving landscape, how should these long-standing businesses represent their brands online? How can they leverage their offline content without further cannibalizing offline sales? How much innovation is possible without alienating more traditional users? And perhaps most importantly, what are the most effective ways to monetize content online? The event will include a presentation from Avenue A | Razorfish representatives Kevin Kearney, Experience Lead, and Andrew Pimentel, Senior Strategy Manager, about working with Conde Nast and The New York Times to evolve their online properties. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with Kevin and Andrew moderated by Liz Danzico, Editor of Boxes and Arrows.
