The Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development along with the
Baltimore County Department of Economic Development announced a one-day
Modeling, Simulation and Serious Games Day and Expo to be held in Baltimore,
MD, Friday, October 19, 2007.

This event is designed for game developers, corporations, business
development professionals, government, and others interested in 3-D
modeling, simulation, and serious games. It will offer three concurrent
sessions: 
* Defense and homeland security
* Medical and emergency response training
* Education and corporate training
Modeling, Simulation and Serious Games Day, will be held at Martin¹s West,
6817 Dogwood Road (off I-695 Exit 17) in Baltimore County.

The summit will feature keynote addresses by John Nordlinger, Program
Manager for Microsoft Research, who will address the role of games in
learning and Kevin Kallaugher (KAL), political cartoonist for The Economist.
KAL will discuss ³Animated Politics: Seeing Satire Come Alive in 3-D.² The
welcoming address will be given by Ben Sawyer of the Serious Games
Initiative.

Joining the summit will be a delegation from Canada, including
representatives from the Canadian Embassy, the Canadian Government, and
Canadian model, simulation, and game companies.

This event will offer booth space, demonstrations, and networking
opportunities for companies and organizations seeking to partner and develop
business and projects together.

The conference is sponsored by the Baltimore County Department of Economic
Development, the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development,
the Canadian Embassy, UK Trade and Investment, and Stanton Communications.
