In addition to my earlier suggestion of an annotated wire frame, is there a project manager on the print side of your process? This function is required to 'police' that information as well. Also, consider a physical hand-off of the final file between the creatives and the developer, at least a phone conference, where issues/questions can be asked, consider including accounts, writer and project mgmt.
