Just wanted to let you know about a discussion I'm leading in NYC next week for user
experience practitioners interested in moving into management positions. It's sponsored
by the NYC Usability Professionals Association...
Don Norman has said, "User testing is not where the action is. The action is with those
people who decide what product to build in the first place." But moving from user
experience practitioner up the ladder and across the organization is easier said than done.
Realizing these opportunities becomes possible when we view ourselves as leaders. Victor
Lombardi, a principal at The Management Innovation Group, will discuss how he and
others have moved into more influential positions and what steps they took to get there.
