Yeah, that's about the long and short of it. I'm not going to be rushing out to upgrade anything either, altho CS2 does have a few nifty features that look like they might be fun to play with. As you say, tho... nothing killer that goes beyond what CS can do. It depresses the hell out of me that GoLive is probably going to get axed in favor of Dreamweaver because this means more cash outlay and learning curve for me (so I see your position completely!), but I don't expect Adobe/Macromedia cares too much. They're going to put their energy and investment into the paackages that can demonstrate market share. Serves me right for trying to swim upstream! As a funny side anecdote, I bought Captivate a few months back (after the big announcement) for a project I'm working on, and Macromedia went into full-court press mode trying to sell me their upgrade program (pay now, get free upgrades for the next two years)... I just laughed. No way am I going to buy an upgrade program when all their cookies are in the air, especially a fringe product like Captivate.
