indeed.. yet i think this is information that a lot of developers would do
well to have. we don't always see sane UI design, and that's largely because
such information is not readily available and / or utilized by the
developers.

one of the items that has come up in past conversation around the ideas that
led to open-hci is to create common documents that help spell out "sane UI
design"

this is one area that i think the KDE style guide will benefit from this
excercise. as Waldo notes, a *lot* of KDE UI decisions are policy decisions
made in the libraries which is a great thing. documenting these decisions as
well as refining them is, IMHO, the next logical step.
