XP Publish and exif data

I was playing (for the first time) with the XP Publishing in ansel. Very cool feature! I encountered a small issue however. There appears to be no exif data on the images after they were uploaded in this manner. Is this to be expected? A limitation of the XP itself? Or a current limitation in Ansel or its implementation of XP Publishing?
