  Log:
  It seems that IE has alot of difficulty with external js scripts not
  being loaded before the dom:loaded event is fired by prototype.js. My guess
  is that google has code that dynamically creates script nodes to load
  some of it's js. Anyway, change this to wait until the window onload is
  fired.
  
  Did I mention how sick I am of IE?
