Gollem sidebar menu issue

Hi,
  Using the latest CVS HEAD.  I have only one backend defined in 
gollem, but the sidebar menu is still displaying the + sign and 
allowing users to expand the File Manaer menu item.  I wish to disable 
this, and just let them click on File Manager itself and have them go 
right in.  How can I do this?  Here are my conf.php

$conf['manager']['date_format'] = '%x';
$conf['menu']['apps'] = array();
$conf['backend']['backend_list'] = 'none';
