Thanks Jan for your answer that gave me a few hints....in fact  in the  
gettext command line I must  write LANG=fr_FR.charset as  :  
(LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8; LANGUAGE=fr_FR; LC_MESSAGES=fr_FR; gettext imp  
"_Get Mail" ).
Otherwise it seems that if I write LANG=fr_FR  gettext take ISO-8859-1  
as charset .
I'm glad to not have need to learn more about gettext... 17553 pages  
lol!

Nevertheless, what had made me submit this issue is  : I want for  
instance to translate "_Get Mail" as " _Récupérer le courrier " and  
having the acceskey  "R".
The issue is that horde menu show "écupérer le courrier(R). Here is a  
screen copy :




Maybe it is not the list for dealing this problem ?
