This seems to be a BSD vs Linux thing. My Linux man pages shows:

For example, the message created by vacation is:
               Subject: away from my mail
From: smith (via the vacation program)
I will not be reading my mail for a while. Your
               mail regarding "$SUBJECT" will be
               read when I return.

while my OpenBSD man page shows:

            From: [email protected] (Eric Allman)
            Subject: I am on vacation
            Delivered-By-The-Graces-Of: The Vacation program
            Precedence: bulk

I am on vacation until July 22.
            If you have something urgent,
please contact Keith Bostic <[email protected]>.

So obviously the two are documented differently.

I'll try to look into it...
