Horde implements Exchange ActiveSync (prop. MS protocol used by most
android handhelds) and SyncML (open Protocol defined by OMA).

ActiveSync has a fixes set of mapped fields. Your endpoints may only
implement a subset of these or all, but you cannot add arbitrary new
fields for syncing.

If you want to provide more freeform data sharing methods, you can
build a plugin / app for your client which consumes the Horde native
RPC api.
