deleting virtual addressbooks

I inadvertently deleted a parent addressbook which had several virtual addressbooks. I now find that it isn't possible to delete the virtual addressbooks in the normal manner. I am not concerned about the data, as they were only imported for testing, but I would quite like to remove them from the list under "My address books". Any suggestions?
