MenuBar Error on Mac OS X

When going through the boa constructor tutorial I get a "Bus error",  
and boa constructor terminates.

I searched the forums, and it is apparently a known issue, but no  
resolution has been posted. Does anyone have a fix (work around) for  
this?

Using:
Mac OS X 10.4.11
Python 2.5.1
wxPyton 2.8.6.0
