I totally agree. 

One thing the project might also want to consider is a switch from
sf.net to another hosting site (maybe nongnu.org). I haven't really
evaluated all of the sites, but I find sf.net's bug tracker to be
especially bad. Something that uses bugzilla would be nice. Also, sf.net
are not very responsive - public cvs was broken for months with no
action on their parts.
