Summary: PHPeclipse launch externals editor for php files

Initial Comment:
When i try to edit a php files, eclipse always launch
some external editor -i.e. dreamweaver -

We could not find a way to disable this behavior in the
preferences.

Is this a bug or a bad setup ?

I had the same problem.
The only way I found to work around this is the one
described by benguela.

"I made the problem go away in Window -> Preferences ->
General -> PHPeclipse Web Development -> Browser Preview
Defaults by unslecting the the two checkboxes under Default
entries for Previewer."

bananeweizen, the answer is yes to all of your questions
except the last one "Do similiar problems also occur for
other file types" which is no.

If you do a right mouse click on a PHP file, do you have an
entry "Open with -> PHP editor" and if so, is that selected
by a check mark? Does it work if you select that entry?
Did you try to edit PHP files from inside Eclipse _before_
you installed PHPeclipse (so you may have connected PHP
files to another editor type)?
Do similiar problems also occur for other file types?

I have the same problem, in my Window -> Preferences ->
General -> Editors -> File Associations -> *.php I have the
PHP Editor and the Text Editor configured both locked by
'PHP Source File' contentype.

But when I edit php files my eclipse always launches
ultredit, my system's default editor.

I also have not found any way to disable this behaviour
