'last few years' is too much, it's almost one year now :-).
I tried to install xdebug last week (try to find out how far
xdebug is implemented and how it works), but unfortunately 
I'm a little too busy at the moment.

That's also the reason why I can't join the meetings on monday
(at least for the next few weeks), and why the 'User Manual' makes no
progress.

And to be honest, I was a little startled when I read the 'depricated' thing :-).
But I think that there are good reasons for xdebug,
although my knowledge about it is very low.
