Experimenting with developing Eclipse plugins in PHP !

Hi:
something which is hard for us, is that users of PHPeclipse are PHP
developers, not Java or Eclipse developers.
So I have this wild and weird idea:
what if we coded some of PHPeclipse in PHP itself?
There are a few emerging projects we could use for that.
- Quercus from Caucho is a PHP interpreter written in Java

- The PHP Java bridge at http://php-java-bridge.sourceforge.net/ allows
to call Java from PHP and PHP from Java
- A set of official Java Api : http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=223
