Axel: very nice! You could check out also: http://php-java-bridge.sourceforge.net/pjb/ another jsr223 implementation (using natives), that is under LGPL. Note that we have one application for the Google Summer of Code at Eclipse that plans to do just that. I also have some code smaple from Peter Kriens @ OSGi who played with Quercus. Would you be willing to help mentoring the student that would work on that? That would be co mentoring! That could help us in the end writing PHPEclipse utilities in PHP, which would be awesome. If so, please signup there ASAP: http://code.google.com/soc/mentor_step1.html Ask to become mentor for Eclipse. And reply to directly to me. -- Cheers Philippe http://easyeclipse.org - http://phpeclipse.net - http://eclipse.org/atf [email protected] > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]] On > Behalf Of Axel > Sent: Monday, April 09, 2007 12:32 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [Phpeclipse-devel] Interpreting PHP scripts with the > Quercus PHPengine written in Java > > > Hello > > I made some promising experiments with the quercus PHP engine: > http://www.groovy-news.org/e/page/axelclk?entry=experiments_wi th_the_jsr_223 With this engine it should be possible to integrate PHP source code tools written in PHP, like for example http://phpdoc.org/ into PHPeclipse. The parser/interpreter (class com.caucho.quercus.parser.QuercusParser) also seems to be very interesting as a replacement for the existing parser in PHPeclipse. Unfortuntenately Quercus is licensed under the GNU General Public License, which is AFAIK not compatible with the Eclipse Common Public license. Does it make sense to contact Quercus to ask under which conditions it may be possible to use their PHP parser/interpreter? -- Axel Kramer WikiBlog: http://www.groovy-news.org/e/page/axelclk ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Take Surveys.
