Initial Comment:
plug-in installs without any problem, same as configuration and creating new project in php perspective. Everything seems to be ok, despite the most important part of this plug-in: PHPEditor...

I am able to edit files in text editor and system editor, but built-in PHPeditor does not work properly... in fact it is not working at all :}

There is a grey background and nothing happens.

I am working on Debian Sid with:

Eclipse
Version: 3.2.2
Build id: M20070212-1330

java:
nimfa> java --version
java version "1.5.0"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.1.3 20070422 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.2-4)

PHP Eclipse-Plugin 1.1.8 from plug-in manager install

PhpEclipse does not currently work with gij.

after installing sun-java5-jre and sun-java5-bin from non-free branch 
- and -
running eclipse as: eclipse -vm /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/jre/bin/java
all problem has been solved

moreover I have update-alternatives --config java
and now there is

nimfa> java -version
java version "1.5.0_11"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_11-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.5.0_11-b03, mixed mode)
